SOFT WATER BENEFITS

Saves Money

Soft water improves cleaning efficiency up to 250 percent – saves on soaps and detergents and significantly improves the appearance of fabrics.

Complexion

Soft water and your favorite soap create gentle suds that will help give your skin and complexion the smooth, fresh look of health and beauty. Your water softener will remove hard water curds that leave your skin dull and can cause redness, roughness, or blemishes.

Shampooing

Does your hair feel dry or sticky? You may have hard water. With soft water, your hair will show its natural shine because the dulling soap deposits that hard water leaves behind have been removed.

Cooking

When many vegetables are cooked in hard water they become shriveled and discolored. In soft, filtered water they will stay tender and retain their garden fresh flavor, aroma, and appearance.

Bathing

Bathing in soft water is gentler on your skin because the minerals that cause scum and curd deposits have been removed to leave your skin free to breathe.

Plumbing

Water that is free of hardness and rust mineral will prevent plumbing scale buildup that restricts the water flow and causes valve leakage.

Shaving

With soft water, razor blades cut closer, cut through the toughest beards and stay sharper longer because there is no hard water scum to dull them.

Water Heater

Did you know that hard water causes scaling in water heaters? This process accelerates rapidly as water is heated and can destroy your hot water heater tank. Hard water scale acts as an insulator, reducing transfer of heat from fire to water and increases your fuel bills.

Dishes, Glassware and Silver

With soft water, you don’t need to use as much soap as before. When you use less soap or detergent, rinse with soft water and your dishes, glassware and silver will dry spot free.

Saves Work

Soft water means easier housekeeping, especially in the bathroom, toilets and showers. They will be much easier to clean and maintain less often and with fewer cleaning products.

Water Testing by a Licensed Local Water Expert

What is hard water?

Rain water is water in its purest form. As it filters through the earth, it absorbs minerals such as calcium and magnesium. These minerals make water hard. How hard the water becomes depends on how much of these minerals it dissolves. Different degrees of hardness exist depending on the amount of minerals dissolved in the water. Water hardness can vary greatly based on where you live.

Soft water is defined as 0 to 1 grains per gallon. Slightly hard water is 1 to 3 1/2 grains per gallon. Moderately hard water has 3 1/2 to 7 grains of minerals per gallon. What is defined as hard water has 7 to 10 1/2 grains per gallon. Finally, the hardest water has over 10 1/2 grains of minerals per gallon.

Have Your Filters Changed by a Professional

If you have a Reverse Osmosis drinking water system in your home, we recommend that the filters be changed at least once every 10-12 months. Having your RO system serviced annually ensures that your membrane is still in good condition and that your system is still sanitized and effectively removing sediments and contaminants that add color or odor to your water.

Reverse Osmosis Filters

Reverse Osmosis filters provide screening, which traps the contaminants in the water as it flows through the filter. The specific type of filter required depends on the problem and the degree of its severity. If the contaminated particles are sufficiently large, the filter merely traps them. In other cases, a chemical reaction may first be necessary in order to make the particles of sufficient density to permit their collection on the screen.

Sediment/Carbon Prefilter

  • Protects the automatic shut-off and membrane from clogging with debris

  • Filters out chlorine

Activated Carbon Filter

  • Water flows through slowly to achieved prolonged contact with the filter

  • Specialized carbon

Carbon Post Filter

  • Removes any remaining tastes and odors

  • Imparts the final polish to your water
